new school

Hey everybody,

I'm at my new school right now. It's my second day. So far I really like it. It's huge...double the size of my last school. This school has 4000 students (can you believe that???) and 9 main buildings as well as several smaller other buildings. It also has a pool. I'm pretty excited about that and plan on swimming after school today actually.

So far I haven't had very many classes, and I'm not sure which ones I'm going to be taking yet...I'm going to meet with one of the teachers after school today and go over my schedule with her...I know i'll be taking some thai dance, cooking, music (I think traditional thai music), art... and one of the teachers said that she's goign to try to arrange some private thai lessons for me. Thats goign to be really good if it happens...I know I could really use lessons, thats for sure. I think I also might be assisting in some English classes, which I think would be a lot of fun. The teacher that I would assisting with is a really funny guy. He's been here teaching for 7 years, and he's from California. There's also a few other really nice English teachers, and they've told me that I can come into the English office anytime and use the computers or just do whatever in there (it's air conditioned, which is nice). Basically i've just felt really welcome here, which is nice...although I do have to deal with everyone wanting to meet me and say hi to me all the time...but its okay, i'm getting more used to it, finally...

Another good thing about this school is that my host sister goes here, and so do all her friends...and i'm better friends with them then I was with my friends at my old school anyways, so overall so far, its really good...Hopefully it continues this way once I get my schedule and start taking my really classes too...I'll let you know...

Oh, and I hope everyone's Halloween was awsome, and you ate lots of candy, even if you weren't trick or treating...I watched batman and ate some chocolate to celebrate...since they don't have halloween here...

Oh, and I hope that everyone going to Graduation on Friday has a great time! Please say hi to everyone for me...I really wish I could be there to see all of you...and get my diploma, that would be nice too, lol...

I'll post again soon,

-Lauren

Hi Lauren,
This is the first time on a blog site, so I'm hoping that this goes through. I want to congratualate you on the NDSS award that your mom received for you at grad. Well done!
I have been enjoying your log about your adventures in Thailand. Isn't it a magnificent country? I would go back in a flash if I could. I'm so glad that you are having that experience. Enjoy yourself! Mrs. Andrews
